Sweet Potato Chaat, an Indian Street Food Favourite

Take to the bustling streets of India with this tangy, spicy sweet potato chaat. Commonly found during the colder months, sweet potato chaat is a North Indian favourite. Whole sweet potatoes are baked, scooped out and seasoned with salt, chaat masala and lemon juice. We’ve taken it up a notch, creating a festive and fun version of this delicious street snack, with the addition of tangy tamarind and spicy mint chutneys, punchy onions, crunchy baked chickpeas, and sweet pomegranate arils. Chaat is commonly served during events as an appetizer, similar to an amuse-bouche, the perfect combination of flavours to prepare guests for the main meal. This delicious appetizer is easy to prep the night before and can be served warm or cold.
